Saturday April 10, 2010
10:00 am – 3:00 pm Mercedes-Benz Eastern Vehicle Prep Center 2900 Childs Street Baltimore, MD (Driving Directions) Ray Lombardo, at 301.520.5512 or via email. The cost to register for this event is $15. Our host for this class will be the MBUSA Eastern Vehicle Preparation Center (VPC) – a tour of the VPC is offers a rare look into how our favorite cars are processed as they go from “fresh off the boat” to ready for shipment to a dealer. And, under a recent agreement, the MBUSA Eastern VPC will be processing BMWs and Mini Coopers, so we'll have the chance to see even more great German cars. Planning to enter a vehicle in the upcoming Deutsche Marque Concours? If so, this class is your chance to learn how the judges will go about rating your car. There's no better way to learn how to better prepare your entry for judging. We hope you plan on attending our concours judging school. Taught by MBCA immediate past President and MBCA National Concours Committee Chair, Pete Lesler, the program will begin at 10 am with a lecture that will last until about noon, when we will break for lunch (provided as part of the session). After lunch and some informal touring around the VPC, we will begin a “hands-on” session with participant cars. We're planning an outing in Baltimore at the conclusion of the program – details will be announced later, so be sure to check our website for updates. We have been thrilled by the level of interest in this program from both GWS members and our friends from the National Capital Chapter of the BMW CCA. We ask that those of you interested in attending please register soon, and please don't forget to tell us what car you are bringing! We would especially appreciate seeing cars at least ten years old, as it won't do as much good to judge brand new cars (and, yes, anything less than ten years old is new to me!) Knowing how many people, and cars we have coming a few weeks in advance will make it possible for us to better plan the day to make the event as enjoyable as possible. |
