Considering that we had changed the date for this event twice, and that many of our regulars were just back from Marque Madness IV at VIR, we didn't get a big group – just 21 drivers, but that was enough. A devilishly convoluted Mike Wirt-designed course left a number of the participants speculating as to how many off-course runs there would be. As it turns out, the course wasn't that hard to learn and was fun to drive.

Since we had replacement parts, the tent used for the timing gear was put back into service so the timing crew didn't have to spend the day under the hot sun, and the wind was calm enough that we didn't have to worry about another impromptu "flight" and crash landing.

In the Mercedes-Benz group, we were happy to see Debbie Hirtes and her 1967 230SL back after an absence. Hans O'Malley was also back out in his 1972 300SEL 4.5. Both Debbie and Hans ran unopposed in their classes and scored a full ten points for this event.

Bill Stewart took first in the 16 valve class, with Paul T. Vandenberg (carrying son Ben and nephew Dylan) in second, with Paul D. Vandenberg a distant third. Brian Layer ran unopposed in the diesel class and finished with a respectable 71.597. In the six-cylinder class it was Ben Weber and GWS President Bill Hopper, with Ben Weber taking the win. The V8 class, GWS VP John Heflin squeaked out a narrow 0.3 second win over Henry Harrell, with Henry's wife Laurie in third, but taking Ladies FTD. Chris Mazzola and Steve Spector battled it out again in the SLK class – unlike AX#2, this time Steve Spector took the class with a margin of just over one second. Once again, Jim Glenn ran unopposed in the AMG class, and took a win to boost his point total to 19 for the year.

In the "Other Marques" group, Patti Woodworth was back in her 2002 Mustang GT to take the win in the Ladies group and garner Other Marque Ladies FTD. Once again Marty Gallagher took first place with an index time of 49.284 – not that he needed much help, but that F-Stock index doesn't hurt. Mike Wirt took FTD in his 2007 Porsche Cayman with a very quick run of 58.940 seconds, which was also good for second place with an index time of 49.686. Brad Blase took third in his 2000 Porsche Boxster S, with Mike Kallam, Mike Kallam Jr., Barrie Gochman, Woody Woodworth, Harry Newman, and David Goldman finishing fourth through ninth respectively.
